Tae Kwon Do testimonial by Katie Norton:

As a mother of two children, much less two boys, you always have their best interest in sight. No matter what age, you always try to stimulate their five senses as much as you can, their mind always on top of the list. Their safety is a top priority as well. You want them to engage in social activities and meet other new kids, as well as learn new things in a controlled, safe environment that can teach them important things for life as well as in a fun way of learning. The things like hand-eye coordination, balance, discipline, gain strength in body and mind while learning self-defense techniqes in the art of Tae Kwon Do at Cho's Black Belt Academy with Master Instructor Paul Benish.

My son Jared Norton started when he was just over four years old in the Lil'dragons program for kids age 4-6. He was a hand full in class to stay inline and listen when the instructor was talking but over time and the care of Master Benish's instruction to the young children, and persistance, Jared came around and started to gain the strength and understanding to do numerous kicks, punches, blocks, and the concentration to do all of them.

Don't get me wrong, there were days that he was frustrated and even cried because he didn't quite understand a certain move or couldn't get it right, but with practice and time he got them all. Jared is the only Lil'dragon to achieve a brown belt, his seventh belt from Master Benish is an achievement he is very proud of. As a mother you know that the weekly drive to Cho's Black Belt Academy in Ripon has totally paid off more than you could imagine...

Jared has just graduated to the traditional Tae Kwon Do class for ages seven through eleven where he joins some of his former Lil'dragon friends that went on before him to help him face the new challenges of the new class where he will learn more difficult strikes, kicks, and forms. Tae kwon do has also had a positive effect on Jared's school work. He may get frustrated if he doesn't get something right away but he has been taught the " I can do attitude " in tae kwon do and he gets through it.

It makes me proud to have my son a member of Cho's in Ripon because it gives Jared a feeling of confidence and makes him want to do better and achieve more in everything he does. It also makes me feel good because Jared is learning skills now that he can use in the future that could help him save his life while having fun.

Thank you Cho's,
Katie Norton

Tae Kwon Do testimonial by Vince Kuber:
As a kid - even a young adult - I wanted to learn martial arts but never found the time, and honestly, I was kind of intimidated by the stereotype I had conjured over the years from TV shows like Kung Fu and low-budget martial arts movies, but it remained on my " bucket list " of things I had always wanted to do.

I was thrilled when my son Joe showed an interest in Tae Kwon Do. His sister Gabby was active in dance and martial arts seemed like just the thing to keep him occupied on the evenings that she had lessons.

I shopped the various martial arts studios in Fond du Lac observing the classes, instructors teaching methods, curriculum, and overall philosophy. Cho's Martial Arts immediately stood out as a school that emphasizes a traditional well-structured martial arts program and philosophy without being intimidating.

One day after class, fifth degree Master Paul Benish approached me as I waited for my son to change. He said very matter - of -factly, " You know Vince, you should be doing this too. You're here anyway. " I remember responding that I was too old to do martial arts. The last thing I wanted at 45 was to become a cage fighter or the human punching bag for a cage fighter. Master Benish suggested that I try it for a while and that it would be a great family activity.

I remember picking my daughter up from dance class that night and telling her that I was also going to do Tae Kwon Do. She looked at me a bit annoyed and said, " Well, if you two are doing it, so am I." I enrolled Gabby that week. It became a family thing. We started at the same time and helped each other over the course of nearly three years advance to the rank of first degree black belt.

Master Benish and third degree instructor Scott Frank have made martial arts at Cho's a healthy and fun activity for my family and me. Tae Kwon Do emphasizes respect for self and others, physical conditioning, balance, and self-defense with an underlying philosophy of self-control.

My experience at Cho's has proven that you're never too old to start a new journey and that only your mind holds you back from achieving your goals and dreams.

Thank you Cho's,
Vince Kuber

Cardio Kickboxing testimonial by Tammi Cassidy-Neal:
I started the cardio kickboxing class at Cho's because I was looking for more than just a cardio workout. I had  been doing home workouts like Tae Bo and Turbo Jam on and off, but I have really enjoyed coming to Cho's. The instructors are really great about combining abs, cardio kickboxing, and weight lifting which is great to get in shape for summer. I really enjoy being able to use boxing gloves and punching the bag. Master Benish has even asked us participants to set personal goals for our session which is helpful also. I love coming to class and working up a good sweat.

Thank you Cho's,
Tammi Cassidy-Neal

Cardio Kickboxing Testimonial by Tina Treffert:
My testimonial for cardio kickboxing at Cho's has many compliments. The biggest compliment I can give is that it offers variety. I have always been into fitness and healthy living, but I tend to get bored with the same old routines of running on the treadmill or working on machines. The best element of this class is the fact that you never know what you're going to get when you walk in the door. Sure the exercises are often similar but it's never the same "routine" or music, and that's what keeps me coming back. Master Benish and Nicole have truly mastered bringing new elements and exercises to the class each week and I am thankful for that. There's nothing better than taking your frustrations out on the bag when you've had a stressful week and I'm glad that Cho's can offer me that outlet. I look forward to seeing you in class!

Thank you Cho's,
